A Humanitarian Appeal For Schapelle Corby
Australia has a mentally ill citizen dying horribly in a squalid prison cell, and its government hasn't lifted a finger to help. That is the stark and disturbing truth. After more than five long long years Schapelle Corby is in a serious condition: her mental health has failed and she is a danger to herself and at risk of exploitation from others. But she remains abandoned, and has apparently been left to die. Time is now short if her life is to be saved. Please help her.
Schapelle Is Desperately Hanging On
An Appeal For Schapelle's Life
Please help to save her life:
1. Write To Kevin Rudd: The Australian Prime Minister
2. Sign The Petition: Easy and quick
3. Email The Australian PM: In addition to a written letter
4. Write to to your MP, other representatives, the media.
5. Write To The Australian Embassy if you are outside Australia

A powerful statement from a very credible person. This should go world wide to open the eyes of skeptics. Guilty or not, every person who has been diagnosed with her illness deserves to be treated compassionately and where possible repatriated to their home country. In Schapelle's case that is Australia.
To PM Rudd, open your heart and follow the guidelines you stated publicly when you were in opposition.
Kim Beazley when he was opposition leader wrote in a personal letter to me...
Hi Neville.
I am sorry for the delay in responding - I have many contacts on a
great range of matters and too few resources to respond as quickly as
I would like.
The thoughts of the Federal Opposition are with Schapelle Corby and
her family. This has understandably been a traumatic experience for
them. There is little doubt the Australian people share this
sentiment.
The Federal Opposition believes Australia should now undertake the
following course of action in support of Schapelle Corby's case.
First, the Australian Government should provide every legal and other
support for the appeal which Ms Corby's defence team has indicated it
will now launch to overturn her conviction and 20-year sentence.
Second, the Australian Government must dedicate maximum resources to
the early negotiation of a bilateral prisoner exchange agreement with
Indonesia. The Government has indicated an Australian negotiating
team will travel to Indonesia in early June. This team should be
dispatched tomorrow.
Third, the Federal Opposition believes it is now time to register
with the President of the Indonesian Republic our support for a
Presidential Pardon for Schapelle Corby on humanitarian grounds.
The Federal Opposition understands that under both the general
provisions of Indonesian law, the President of Indonesia has the
power for grants of "mercy, amnesty, pardon and restoration of
rights".
Following consultations with the Indonesian Government, our view is
it is appropriate for a request for a Presidential Pardon to be
lodged - pending the outcome of the appeals process.
Accordingly Kevin Rudd, the Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs, on
behalf of the Federal Opposition, has written to the Ambassador of
Indonesia to convey an appropriate request for such a Presidential
Pardon to His Excellency Dr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, President of
the Republic of Indonesia.
Labor asks that the Australian Government provide bipartisan support
to this approach.
Yours sincerely
Kim

Schapelle - You are strong, you are inspiring, you are innocent, you are supported by many within and outside of Australia, you have an amazing family and last but not least, you are loved... Bree (Gold Coast / Whitsundays) xxx
Schapelle,
Sweetheart, I feel so much love for you & send you all my strength & prayers. I know too well the horror of mental illness, in my case Depressive Personality Disorder & various anxiety disorders. My own father was a suicide, as was his brother- my uncle. BUT- I tell you this not to further sadden you, but to inspire you. For though I do believe depression & other illnesses have a genetic link- I am also proof they do NOT have to end the same way. With the proper medical attention, possibly medications & therapy you CAN and you WILL recover, and you CAN live a full & healthy life! Hang in there honey. One moment, one hour, one second at a time if you must. You WILL be free of that horrid place. The world is with you! Sending love & strength from the midwest USA.
Ann Honey
